Why is the empty tomb so important to Christians? Because the resurrection of Jesus is the foundation to Christianity. If the resurrection was false, then Christianity is false. So that is where it all begins.
God's love is understood by Jesus's sacrifice, and is proven by Jesus's resurrection.
To ask for God's forgiveness is an act of faith. Faith that Jesus's sacrifice was made on your behalf

His claims were true for he conquered death
He truly is
